  • Dan Deckard

    Dan originates from Newcastle, California. He served a tour of duty in the Marine Corps, during which time he was converted to Christ. It was this initial experience of conversion and the newly awakened hunger for the Scripture that compelled him to seek a formal education in the Bible. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in theology from The Master's College, a Masters of Divinity and a Doctorate of Ministry from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School in Deerfield, IL. Dan was called to Parkway Community Church in 1997, where he served as pastor of preaching and teaching. On April 1st, 2001, upon the retirement of John Hanson, Dan assumed his current role as lead pastor. Dan and his wife Deanna reside in the city of Fairfield and have three children - two boys; Daniel and Isaac, and a girl; Allie.

    Adam was born and raised in Fairfield California and became a Christian in Junior high through the Quest Ministry of Parkway Community Church. He graduated with a B.A in Christian Ministry from Briercrest Bible College and Master of Science in Leadership from Grand Canyon University. While at Briercrest he met Rachelle, his wife and best friend, and they were married in 2005. Adam and Rachelle have three children, Bella Mercy, Charlotte Joy, and Ruby Maize. Adam was hired in January of 2017 after working in the human services field since 2005. Adam has a deep love for the gospel and is passionate about creating community in the church.

  • Valerie Ackermann

    Val was born and raised in small town Saskatchewan, Canada with many wonderful memories of growing up in the church. She graduated with a B.A. in Theology from Briercrest Bible College. While in college, Val met Chris Ackermann from Parkway Community Church in Fairfield, CA. They married in 1997 and after spending a year in Canada, and a full summer working at Hume Lake Christian Camps they came back to Fairfield in 1998.   Val began serving as the full time Director of Children's Ministries in 2004, and added to that the role of church administrator in 2018. She is also the author of the book THE GOD PUZZLE: HOW THE BIBLE FITS TOGETHER TO REVEAL GOD AS YOUR GREATEST TREASURE. An interactive no prep book that any parent can use to guide kids through the Bible and Christian faith. Chris and Val have the privilege of being the parents to two sons, Blake and Carson.

  • Doreen Torres

    Doreen was born and raised in the Bay Area. Her and her husband David have three children, Jesse, Bella and Jonathan. By the grace of God, Doreen was called to follow Christ in September of 2005 and has since continued to grow in her faith. She has always had a passion for children which has led her to serve as a nursery lead, a leader in AWANA and a volunteer at Parkway Tutoring Center. Doreen has been the owner and operator of a small business since 2008, and in 2018 made the decision to cut back the business in order to take on the position as Director of the Parkway Tutoring Center. She is bilingual, fluent in both Spanish and English which enables her to communicate well with the Spanish speaking families of the tutoring center. God has given Doreen a heart to love, teach and proclaim the gospel to the children she directs in her position. She finds it to be a great joy and privilege.

  • Brian gustafson

    A husband and a father of three boys, Brian has been involved with Quest for over 15 years and an active member of Parkway Community Church for over 28 years. Brian graduated from Biola University in 1985 and married Ingrid Hernandez three weeks later. He is a small business owner and enjoys playing golf, watching sporting events, and working with Junior High Students.

    Brian became a Christian in Sunday School when he was 5 years old and understands the role that the church plays in helping parents to guide kids in their own relationship with God.  He sees the need to mix both spiritual, emotional, and physical needs of our Junior High Students. Any given Tuesday night you can see him challenging the students in all these areas.
