our elders

  • david herrera(chair)

David, a devoted father of Hunter and Cole, and loving husband to Lauren, came to faith in Christ in the High Life ministry of Parkway. David serves the community as a CHP officer and loves his job. David enjoys playing music in the worship band and has a heart to serve in any way he can.

  • Tom leary

God saved Tom when he was 24 years old, one year after he started his 28 year career in Law Enforcement, a job he thoroughly enjoyed because of the opportunity to serve the community as well as having had varying opportunities to share the gospel with people.  After his retirement in 2003, he worked for seven years for a law firm that represents peace officers, again, a job that was very fulfilling.

Tom and his wife Debbie were married in 1979, and they have been members of Parkway since 2002.  They have three adult daughters, two sons-in-law, and five grandchildren. Almost all of their family are also members of Parkway.

Tom thrives on teaching the Bible. He taught Adult Sunday School for over 20 years before coming to Parkway, and has taught various classes at Parkway, as well as having the privilege of preaching on Sunday mornings at Parkway and other local churches. His focus is twofold—the glorification of Jesus, and the application of the gospel to everything in life.
