God saved Tom when he was 24 years old, one year after he started his 28 year career in Law Enforcement in Contra Costa County. After retirement, he worked for a law firm that represented peace officers for seven years.
Tom has been married to his wife, Debbie, for 36 years, and they have three adult daughters, two sons-in-law, and three grandchildren.
He taught Adult Sunday School for over 20 years, and he and Debbie have been members of Parkway Community Church since 2002.

Dan originates from Newcastle, California. He served a tour of duty in the Marine Corps, during which time he was converted to Christ. It was this initial experience of conversion and the newly awakened hunger for the Scripture that compelled him to seek a formal education in the Bible. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in theology from The Master's College, a Masters of Divinity and a Doctorate of Ministry from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School in Deerfield, IL. Dan was called to Parkway Community Church in 1997, where he served as pastor of preaching and teaching. On April 1st, 2001, upon the retirement of John Hanson, Dan assumed his current role as lead pastor. Dan and his wife Deanna reside in the city of Fairfield and have three children - two boys; Daniel and Isaac, and a girl; Allie.
In June of 1979, while stationed @ Travis AFB, Pete was ‘Saved/Born Again.’ He's served the Church as a High School Director, Sunday School Teacher, Home Group Leader, Deacon and Elder. He married Camille Jan 1979 and raised 5 children (Philip, Amanda, Camie, Knoelle, Noah).
Rufus came to faith in Christ as a child around the age of 10 after being raised in a Christian home and coming to understand the gospel. He attended Armijo High School where he met and later married his high school sweetheart, Kris, in 1988. They now have three adult children. Rufus owns his own wealth management business in Fairfield. He has served his clients in that industry since 1993. He is a gifted leader and teacher who first preached at the age of 18. He enjoys cooking and hiking with Kris and friends in his spare time.
John Hanson, with his wife Sharon, founded Parkway Community Church in 1966. He served as its primary pastor for nearly 37 years before retirement. Even after retirement, however, John continued to serve the church community in various ways until he passed into glory on April 2nd, 2016. He will be missed and remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, friend and pastor to many.
